Overview
What is looksy?
looksy is a salon booking app that allows you to easily select the perfect salon and spa according to your preference easily at crazy discounted price.
Problem
Problem #1
Lacked reliability
The app offered deals that seemed too good to be true. And majority of our users found it difficult to trust our services in the absence of straightforward visual language.
Problem #2
Booking time took too long
The majority of people cancelled their reservations because it took too long. This was the main cause of the unfavourable reaction.
Problem #3
The overall app design was inadequate
Most of our users thought the user interface was somewhat sleazy and outdated, which undermined their trust.

Establish trust with the user
When making a reservation, the majority of users were a little unsure of their chances of being accepted. Considering that this is a third-party service provider offering substantial discounts over directly scheduling appointments through salon websites.
A modern interafce
Since most users prefer to use reliable apps, I wanted to give our consumers a new interface design to gain their trust in us.
Truly simple navigation
I wanted to give consumers a smooth experience because the current navigation felt outdated and disorganized, which negatively affected user experience.
Assist users with bookings much more fast
Sometimes booking an appointment too long, and Most users quit in frustration. I had to find a solution for this problem as this could lead to negative word of mouth and low user retention.

Unwanted and unfunctional discount banner behind the search bar. The menu on top left is almost hidden. Search bar isn’t creating enough contrast

The information architecture on the interface looks very confusing.

Most of our users reported that they barely used menu because it was out of their sight.

Problem : Unfunctional offer tab that hid the search bar
Solution: Gave proper hierarchy and contrast to the search bar so that it can stand out in the entire screen.
Also added an offer section that allows user to directly go to the exact salon that was offering good discounts.
We did this to ensure that the user can understand that this card is clickable and will give an outcome
Problem : Make the menu easy to access.
Solution: We created a bottom navigation bar that allowed users to navigate through their favorite salon list, See their prevoius booking and edit their personal information on profile page
